Key West’s Duval Street is to become a mile-long culinary showplace during the fourth annual Key West Food and Wine Festival, designed to please palates and tempt taste buds Thursday through Sunday, Jan. 24-27. Duval Uncorked, the Jan. 26 stroll along Duval from the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic Ocean, offers enticing visits to restaurants, bars, galleries and boutiques on the famed street.

Other festival highlights are to include a barefoot evening beach party, tasting strolls in multiple flavorful Key West neighborhoods, a kitchen tour featuring the “galley” where food was prepared for former president Harry Truman during his Key West sojourns and a gala Bottles & Busts open-air grand tasting in Key West’s Historic Memorial Sculpture Garden.

All events are designed to spotlight the talents of local chefs and the flavors of indigenous Florida Keys ingredients. Premium wines from around the world complement featured cuisine, while food-related adventures are planned to whet attendees’ appetites for fun.

Among them are the Seafood Shakedown culinary competition focused on the Florida Keys’ prized pink shrimp, a quirky afternoon of coconut bowling and sampling coconut treats in historic Bahama Village and a traditional Key West shrimp boil beside the working shrimp docks.

Attractions also include an outdoor wine market, multicourse wine dinners, a French masquerade dance with desserts, a Sunday jazz brunch featuring breakfast pizza and the Master Chef’s Classic tasting and competition.
