Harry Truman’s Little White HouseOne of the most historic and interesting locations in Key West is the Harry Truman Little White House. The 1890′s house was first used as the commander’s quarters for the Key West Naval Base during the Spanish-American War, but in 1946 became the winter residence of President Harry Truman. It was used by Truman and other presidents throughout the Cold War before being abandoned when the US Navy decommissioned the base in 1974. In 1986 it was bought and restored as part of the Truman Annex development by Pritam Singh and given to the state to protect as a historical site. The property is now run as a historical tourist attraction and can be visited and toured. For more information on the Little White House click here.
