Here at Parrot Key Resort, we know you love drama.
Theatre, that is.
Which is why we’re letting you know that the Key West Fringe Theatre’s opening night performance of David Mamet’s Boston Marriage is the place to be tonight. If your Friday evening is already a little overbooked, don’t worry: there’s more performances ahead this weekend and beyond.
You’ll want to brush up on your playwriting lingo, first (Mamet is known for his whip-smart, biting wordplay) and then head over to www.keystix.com to buy your seats. Then it’s over to the Carriage Trade guest house, located at 529 Eaton St., for the performance at 8:00pm.
Bring us back a program– we’ll put it in our scrapbook.

Make sure you ate a good breakfast this morning, because you’ll need your energy for these TGIF activities….
First up, catch any of the three Offshore Powerboat Championship races that are zooming around the island today. With the last race happening at 2:00pm, you have plenty of time to sleep in & make your way down to the Truman Annex at a leisurely pace. Then get ready for the post-race party on Duval St., happening this evening from 7:00 – 11:00pm. For the full schedule of race events, visit www.superboat.com
If you’re like us, you feel the triumvirate of drinking is a Happy Hour that combines charity, discounted drinks and cupcakes. You’ll definitely want to swing by the BottleCap Groove Lounge tonight from 5:00-8:00pm for their Cupcake Wars Happy Hour, with proceeds to benefit Wesley House Family Services, a great local charity that helps families in need. Watch as local bakers battle it out to see whose cupcake is champion (and enjoy the spoils of their war in the form of delicious, delicious cupcakes all evening.) The BottleCap Groove Lounge is located at 1128 Simonton St– ask your friendly local Key West hotel front desk employee for directions.
